12. Pursuant to section II, paragraph 21, of its resolution 63/250, the General Assembly decided that there should be no expectations, legal or otherwise, of renewal or conversion of a fixed-term contract, irrespective of the length of service.
12 - وعملا بالفقرة 21 من الجزء الثاني من قرارها 63/250، قررت الجمعية العامة عدم إفساح المجال لأي توقعات قانونية أو غيرها بتجديد أو تحويل عقد محدد المدة أيا كان طول مدة الخدمة.

9. With respect to letters of appointment, the proposed amendments responded to the General Assembly's request, in section II, paragraph 21, of its resolution 63/250, that letters of appointment should reflect that there would be no expectations, legal or otherwise, of renewal or conversion of a fixed-term contract, irrespective of the length of service.
9 - وبخصوص كتب التعيين، قالت إن التعديلات المقترحة تستجيب لطلب الجمعية العامة، الوارد في الفقرة 21 من الجزء الثاني من قرارها 63/250، بأن تعكس هذه الكتب عدم إفساح المجال لأي توقعات قانونية أو غيرها بتجديد عقد محدد المدة أو تحويله، أيا كان طول مدة الخدمة.

This principle has been affirmed by the General Assembly, which stated in its resolution 63/250 that " there shall be no expectations, legal or otherwise, of renewal or conversion of a fixed-term contract, irrespective of the length of service " .
وأكدت الجمعية العامة هذا المبدأ، حيث نصت في قرارها 63/250 على أنها " تقرر عدم إفساح المجال لأي توقعات قانونية أو غيرها بتجديد عقد محدد المدة أو تحويله، أيا كان طول مدة الخدمة " .

The General Assembly had decided in implementing the new contractual framework that there shall be no expectations, legal or otherwise, of renewal or conversion of a fixed-term contract, irrespective of the length of service (see resolution 63/250).
وقد قررت الجمعية العامة في تنفيذ الإطار التعاقدي الجديد عدم إفساح المجال لأي توقعات قانونية أو غيرها بتجديد عقد محدد المدة أو تحويله، أيا كان طول مدة الخدمة (انظر القرار 63/250).

5. The proposed amendments to staff regulation 4.5 addressed the specific request of the General Assembly contained in section II, paragraph 21, of its resolution 63/250 to reflect in the Rules and Regulations that there would be no expectations, legal or otherwise, of renewal or conversion of a fixed-term contract, irrespective of the length of service.
