In its resolution 2002/78, the Commission requested the Secretary-General to submit to it, at its fifty-ninth and sixtieth sessions, a report on the status of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, and on the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and its Optional Protocols, including all reservations and declarations.

41. At its fifty-ninth and sixtieth sessions, the Working Group approved the substance of article 6 as set out in paragraph 5 above (A/CN.9/799, para. 70; for deliberations on article 6 at the fifty-ninth session of the Working Group, see A/CN.9/794, para. 159).

The Commission further endorsed the agreement of the Working Group at its fifty-ninth and sixtieth sessions not to include in the preamble the wording of the mandate given by the Commission to the Working Group (see para. 14 above), but rather that the proposal for the General Assembly resolution recommending the convention contain the wording as set out in paragraph 41 of document A/CN.9/794.
