To cite a few recent examples, first was the delay in the issuance of reports on gratis personnel, as requested by the General Assembly in its resolution 51/243 of 15 September 1997, to be submitted during the main part of its fifty-second regular session.

Further requests the Secretary-General to revise the draft guidelines set out in his reports on gratis personnel in accordance with the provisions of the present resolution and taking into account the following principles, and to submit them to the General Assembly, through the Advisory Committee, for its approval at the main part of its fifty-second regular session:
