Mr. Kuindwa (Kenya), associating himself with the statement made by the representative of Jordan on behalf of the Movement of Non-Aligned Countries, said that, as a token of its commitment to the promotion of international peace and security, Kenya had for many years been participating in United Nations peacekeeping operations and currently had military observers and civilian police monitors in six missions in Africa and elsewhere.
33 - السيد كويندوا (كينيا): أيد البيان الذي أدلى به ممثل الأردن باسم حركة بلدان عدم الانحياز. وقال إن كينيا، تمسكا منها بتعزيز السلم والأمن الدوليين، شاركت منذ سنوات في عمليات حفظ السلام التابعة للأمم المتحدة ولديها حاليا مراقبون عسكريون ومفتشون للشرطة المدنية في ست بعثات في أفريقيا وأماكن أخرى.

36. Mr. Kuindwa (Kenya) said globalization and interdependence between rich and poor nations as reflected in international trade and financial flows, foreign direct investment, technological progress and other forms of transborder linkages between private firms, was an irreversible process.
36 - السيد كويندوا (كينيا): قال انه يرى أن العولمة والاعتماد المتبادل بين البلدان الغنية والفقيرة الظاهرين في التجارة والتيارات المالية الدولية، والاستثمار الأجنبي المباشر، والتقدم التكنولوجي والصلات الأخرى القائمة عبر الحدود بين المؤسسات الخاصة، عملية لا رجعة فيها.

29. Mr. Kuindwa (Kenya) said that his country had excellent credentials in the area of disarmament: it had been one of the first to sign the NPT in 1968 and one of the original 21 members of the Conference on Disarmament, and it was on that basis that his Government had lent its unswerving support to the indefinite extension of the NPT in 1995.
