I am sure that we will all want to thank the Ambassadors of Thailand and of Barbados, Mr. Laohaphan and Mr. Hackett, for their dedication, which has brought us to this point.

12. Ms. Laohaphan (Thailand) noted from the report of the Secretary-General on the implementation of Agenda 21 (A/61/258) that many Governments had made sustainable development their core principle in charting the future course of their countries.
