16. In its reply of 30 June 1995, the Hellenic Marine Environment Protection Association (HELMEPA) informed the Secretary-General that although the issue of large-scale pelagic drift-net fishing and its impact on the living marine resources of the world's oceans and seas was of concern to HELMEPA, the Association's membership did not include fishing vessels or fishermen.
