In its resolution 1521 (2003), the Security Council urged the National Transitional Government of Liberia to ensure that its revenues from the Liberian timber industry not be used to fuel conflict or otherwise in violation of the Council's resolutions, and expressed its readiness to lift its prohibition on the import of any round logs or timber products originating in Liberia if this goal was achieved.
