The roster of experts was improved through, inter alia, supporting the CST in reviewing and updating the current list of disciplines and setting up web-based facilities to ease the updating of the roster.

23. Pursuant to decision 23/COP.10, paragraph 1, which requested the CST to review the current list of disciplines, the secretariat has submitted to the Bureau of the CST an updated list of disciplines, which has been examined and approved during its meeting on 30 - 31 May 2013.
23- ووفقاً للفقرة 1 من المقرر 23/م أ-10 التي تطلب من لجنة العلم والتكنولوجيا تنقيح قائمة الاختصاصات الحالية، قدمت الأمانة إلى مكتب اللجنة قائمة محدثة تم النظر فيها واعتمادها خلال اجتماع اللجنة الذي عُقد يومي 30-31 أيار/مايو 2013.

Request that the list of disciplines be updated every four years on the basis of the evolution of research on DLDD and UNCCD activities;

6. In order to prepare the list of nominations, the secretariat has produced a curriculum vitae form taking due account of the illustrative list of disciplines annexed to decision 15/COP.3 and as amended in annex II to document ICCD/COP(4)/5/Add.1.
6- ولإعداد قائمة الترشيحات، وضعت الأمانة استمارة خاصة بالسيرة الذاتية مراعية على النحو الواجب قائمة الاختصاصات التوضيحية المرفقة بالمقرر 15/م أ-3 وبصيغتها المعدلة الواردة في المرفق الثاني بالوثيقة ICCD/COP(4)/5/Add.1.

4. Requests the Committee on Science and Technology to update and review the list of disciplines every four years on the basis of the evolution of research on desertification/land degradation and drought, also including traditional and local knowledge, know-how and practices, and to ensure that it is aligned with United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) priority activities;
4- يطلب إلى لجنة العلم والتكنولوجيا أن تحدث وتستعرض قائمة الاختصاصات كل أربع سنوات استناداً إلى تطور البحوث في مسائل التصحر/تدهور الأراضي والجفاف، وأن تدرج فيها أيضا المعارف التقليدية والمحلية، والدراية العملية والممارسات، وذلك لضمان تواؤمها مع أنشطة اتفاقية الأمم المتحدة لمكافحة التصحر التي تحظى بالأولوية؛

26. The COP may want to harmonize the list of disciplines used for the roster of independent experts with those used for the activities of the UNCCD, also taking into account the proposal by the Ad Hoc Working Group to Further Discuss the Options for the Provision of Scientific Advice Focusing on Desertification/Land Degradation and Drought Issues (AGSA) on core and non-core disciplines (see ICCD/COP(11)/CST/3).
26- وقد يود مؤتمر الأطراف تنسيق قائمة الاختصاصات المستخدمة في قائمة الخبراء المستقلين مع تلك المستخدمة في أنشطة اتفاقية مكافحة التصحر، مع مراعاة المقترح المقدم من الفريق العامل المخصص بشأن مواصلة مناقشة الخيارات المتعلقة بإسداء مشورة علمية تركز على قضايا التصحر/تدهور الأراضي والجفاف في الاختصاصات الأساسية وغير الأساسية (انظر ICCD/COP(11)/CST/3).
