We look forward to the Secretary-General's report on the importance of protecting coral reefs and related ecosystems for sustainable livelihoods and development as we lead up to the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development in 2012.
إننا نتطلع إلى تقرير الأمين العام بشأن ضرورة حماية الشعب المرجانية والنظم الإيكولوجية المتصلة بها من أجل استدامة سبل العيش والتنمية ونحن نستعد لمؤتمر الأمم المتحدة للتنمية المستدامة في 2012.

" Taking note of the report of the Secretary-General on the protection of coral reefs for sustainable livelihoods and development, requested by the General Assembly in its resolution 65/150 of 20 December 2010,
" وإذ تحيط علما بتقرير الأمين العام عن حماية الشعاب المرجانية من أجل سبل العيش والتنمية المستدامة، الذي طلبت الجمعية العامة منه تقديمه في قرارها 65/150 المؤرخ 20 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2010،

Recognizing that millions of the world's inhabitants depend on the health of coral reefs and related ecosystems for sustainable livelihoods and development as they are a primary source of food and income, add to the aesthetic and cultural dimensions of communities and also provide for protection from storms, tsunamis and coastal erosion,
وإذ تسلِّم بأن الملايين من سكان العالم يعتمدون على سلامة الشعاب المرجانية وما يتصل بها من نظم إيكولوجية من أجل سبل العيش والتنمية المستدامة باعتبارها مصدراً رئيسياً للغذاء والدخل وعنصراً يعزز البعدين الجمالي والثقافي للمجتمعات المحلية ويوفر أيضا الحماية من العواصف وموجات تسونامي وتحات الشواطئ،

5. Encourages Member States and stakeholders to address, as appropriate, the protection of coral reefs for sustainable livelihoods and development;
5 - تشجع الدول الأعضاء وأصحاب المصلحة على القيام، حسب الاقتضاء، بمعالجة موضوع حماية الشعاب المرجانية من أجل سبل العيش والتنمية المستدامة؛

2. Protection of coral reefs for sustainable livelihoods and development (2010), resolution 65/150

(a) States were urged to take all practical steps to protect coral reefs for sustainable livelihoods and development and to implement comprehensive management approaches.
(أ) تم حثّ الدول على اتخاذ جميع الخطوات العملية لحماية الشعاب المرجانية من أجل سبل العيش والتنمية المستدامة، وتنفيذ نهج متكاملة للإدارة.

While recognizing the vital importance of coral reefs and ecosystems for the sustainable livelihoods and development of small island States, Turkey wished however to disassociate itself from references contained in the draft resolution to international instruments to which it was not a party.
وبينما تسلم تركيا بالأهمية الحيوية للشعاب المرجانية والنظم الإيكولوجية لاستدامة سبل العيش والتنمية في الدول الجزرية الصغيرة، فهي ترجو، مع ذلك أن تنأى بنفسها عن الإشارات الواردة في مشروع القرار إلى صكوك دولية ليست طرفاً فيها.

وإذ تحيط علما بتقرير الأمين العام عن حماية الشعاب المرجانية من أجل سبل العيش والتنمية المستدامة الذي طلبت الجمعية العامة تقديمه في قرارها 65/150 المؤرخ 20 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2010()،

2. In paragraph 3 of the same resolution, the General Assembly requested the Secretary-General to prepare a comprehensive report on the protection of coral reefs for sustainable livelihoods and development by the Assembly, for consideration at its sixty-sixth session.
2 - وفي الفقرة 3 من القرار نفسه، طلبت الجمعية العامة إلى الأمين العام أن يقدم تقريرا شاملا عن أهمية حماية الشعاب المرجانية وما يتصل بها من نظم إيكولوجية من أجل سبل العيش والتنمية المستدامة، لتنظر فيه الجمعية العامة في دورتها السادسة والستين.

We have experienced the rising incidence of megadisasters, with their huge costs in terms of lives, livelihoods and development.
وكابدنا تزايد عدد الكوارث الضخمة مع ما تستتبعه من تكاليف باهظة في الأرواح وسُبُل كسب الرزق والتنمية.
