In that respect, Cuba believes that it is entirely timely and relevant to recall United Nations General Assembly resolution 61/62 on promotion of multilateralism in the area of disarmament and non-proliferation, which reaffirms multilateralism as the core principle in negotiations in this area with a view to maintaining and strengthening universal norms and enlarging their scope.
