2. By resolution 1132 (1997), adopted on 8 October 1997, the Security Council, gravely concerned at the continued violence following the military coup of 25 May 1997 and determining that the situation in Sierra Leone constituted a threat to international peace and security in the region, imposed a regime of mandatory sanctions, under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations, against Sierra Leone.
2 - بعد أن أعرب مجلس الأمن، في قراره 1132 (1997) المتخذ في 8 تشرين الأول/ أكتوبر 1997، عن قلقه البالغ لاستمرار العنف في أعقاب الانقلاب العسكري الذي وقع في 25 أيار/مايو 1997 وقرر أن الحالة في سيراليون تشكل تهديدا للسلم والأمن الدوليين في المنطقة، فرض المجلس نظاما للجزاءات الإلزامية على سيراليون بموجب الفصل السابع من ميثاق الأمم المتحدة.

This could be achieved by providing the subsidiary organ customarily established in connection with the adoption of mandatory sanctions with a wide mandate to consider such requests and transmit its observations and recommendations to the President of the Security Council.

152. Experience gained over the years from the application of Article 50, and in particular the recent case relating to the mandatory sanctions against Iraq, point to a number of gaps and constraints that suggest the need for such a mechanism.

Because of its geographical proximity to the former Yugoslavia, Hungary was particularly interested in the question of assistance to third States affected by the application of sanctions under Chapter VII. Hungary had scrupulously complied with its obligations and applied all the mandatory sanctions.
٥ - وقال إن هنغاريا، وهي البلد القريب من يوغوسلافيا السابقة جغرافيا، تعنى بوجه خاص بمسألة مساعدة الدول الثالثة المتضررة من تطبيق الجزاءات بموجب الفصل السابع من الميثاق. وأضاف أن بلده قد وفى بالتزاماته بكل دقة وطبق جميع الجزاءات الالزامية.

During the period under review the Committee held 3 meetings and dealt with 28 communications concerning the mandatory sanctions imposed against Rwanda.
