Law Concerning Partial Amendment to the Maternal Protection Law (promulgated on 29 July 2005)

In 2005, the Maternal Protection Law was partially amended, to extend the deadline from 2005 to 2010 by which the Instructor for Birth Control, such as a midwife, can sell medication and use devices necessary for birth control (*).
وفي عام 2005 عدل قانون حماية الأمومة جزئياً بقصد تمديد الموعد من عام 2005 إلى عام 2010 الذي يمكن فيه لمدربي تنظيم النسل، كالقابلات بيع الأدوية واستخدام الوسائل الضرورية لمنع الحمل (*).

(c) Inadequate maternity legislation, which fails to comply with the recommended 14 weeks of maternity paid in accordance with the ILO Maternal Protection Convention No. 183 (2000).
(ج) عدم كفاية التشريعات المتعلقة بالأمومة التي لا تتقيد بمدة 14 أسبوعاً الموصى بها لإجازة الأمومة المدفوعة الأجر طبقاً لاتفاقية منظمة العمل الدولية رقم 183 (2000) بشأن حماية الأمومة.

(c) Review maternity legislation in order to support women working in the formal and informal sector by providing the recommended 14 weeks of paid maternity leave in accordance with the ILO Maternal Protection Convention No. 183 (2000).
(ج) استعراض التشريعات المتعلقة بالأمومة لدعم النساء العاملات في القطاعين الرسمي وغير الرسمي وذلك بمنحهن إجازة الأمومة المدفوعة الأجر الموصى بها ومدتها 14 أسبوعاً طبقاً لاتفاقية منظمة العمـل الدوليـة رقم 183(2000) بشأن حماية الأمومة.

Under the Maternal Protection Law (Law No. 156 of 1948), abortion is allowed only when it is performed by a doctor who has been designated under the provision of the first paragraph of Article 14 of the Maternal Protection Law from the perspective of protecting the life and health of the mother.
وطبقا لقانون حماية الأمومة (القانون رقم 156 لعام 1948)، لا يُسمح بالإجهاض إلا إذا أجراه طبيب مخصص بموجب أحكام الفقرة الأولى من المادة 14 من قانون حماية الأمومة من منظور حماية حياة الأم وصحتها.
