The Convention is the culmination of the resolve of the member States " to take effective measures to ensure that the perpetrators of terroristic acts do not escape prosecution and punishment by providing for their extradition or prosecution " .

In that context, we urge Member States to take effective measures to compel Israel, the sole country in the Middle East that has not acceded to the NPT, to immediately do so and to dismantle its dangerous nuclear facilities after fully subjecting them to the supervision and safeguards of the International Atomic Energy Agency.

7. Also urges Member States to take effective measures to prevent the transfer of illicitly acquired or obtained cultural property, especially through auctions, including through the Internet, and to effect its return or restitution to its rightful owners;
7- يحث أيضا الدول الأعضاء على اتخاذ تدابير فعّالة لمنع نقل الممتلكات الثقافية المقتناة أو المتحصل عليها بطرق غير مشروعة، ولا سيما من خلال المزادات، بما فيها مزادات الانترنت، وإعادتها إلى أصحابها الشرعيين أو تعويضهم عنها؛

In addition, technical assistance will be provided to Member States to take effective measures at the national level in line with the convention against transnational organized crime expected to be adopted by the Millennium Assembly of the General Assembly in 2000.

18. Urges all Member States to take effective measures to address gender-based violence in humanitarian emergencies, and to make all possible efforts to ensure that their laws and institutions are adequate to prevent, promptly investigate and prosecute acts of gender-based violence;
18 - تحث جميع الدول الأعضاء على اتخاذ تدابير فعالة للتصدي للعنف القائم على أساس نوع الجنس في حالات الطوارئ الإنسانية، وبذل كل الجهود الممكنة لضمان ملاءمة قوانينها ومؤسساتها لمكافحة أعمال العنف القائم على أساس نوع الجنس والإسراع بالتحقيق فيها ومحاكمة مرتكبيها؛

15. Encourages Member States to take effective measures at the national, regional and international levels and to promote close international cooperation to prevent criminal organizations, in particular those involved in drug trafficking, from acquiring and using firearms, their parts and components and ammunition, in order to enhance public security;
15 - تشجع الدول الأعضاء على اتخاذ تدابير فعالة على الصعد الوطني والإقليمي والدولي، وعلى تعزيز قيام تعاون دولي وثيق لمنع المنظمات الإجرامية من حيازة واستخدام الأسلحة النارية وأجزائها ومكوناتها وحيازة واستخدام الذخائر، لا سيما المنظمات الضالعة في الاتجار بالمخدرات، من أجل كفالة استتباب الأمن العام؛

7 - يحث أيضا الدول الأعضاء على اتخاذ تدابير فعّالة لمنع نقل الممتلكات الثقافية المقتناة بطرق غير مشروعة أو المتحصل عليها بطرق غير قانونية، ولا سيما من خلال المزادات، بما فيها مزادات الإنترنت، وإعادتها إلى أصحابها الشرعيين أو تعويضهم عنها؛

In its resolution 61/134, the Assembly urged Member States to take effective measures to address gender-based violence in humanitarian emergencies and to make all possible efforts to ensure that their laws and institutions were adequate to prevent, promptly investigate and prosecute acts of gender-based violence.
وحثّت الجمعية العامة، في قرارها 61/134، الدول الأعضاء على اتخاذ تدابير فعّالة للتصدي للعنف القائم على أساس نوع الجنس في حالات الطوارئ الإنسانية، وعلى بذل كل الجهود الممكنة لضمان ملاءمة قوانينها ومؤسساتها لمكافحة أعمال العنف القائم على أساس نوع الجنس والإسراع بالتحقيق فيها ومحاكمة مرتكبيها.

9. Also invites Member States to allocate appropriate resources for victim services, public awareness campaigns and law enforcement activities directed at eliminating trafficking and exploitation and to foster international cooperation, including adequate technical assistance and capacity-building programmes, to improve the ability of Member States to take effective measures against trafficking in persons;
9- يدعو أيضا الدول الأعضاء إلى تخصيص موارد مناسبة لخدمات الضحايا ولحملات التوعية العامة ولأنشطة إنفاذ القانون التي تستهدف القضاء على الاتجار والاستغلال، وإلى تعزيز التعاون الدولي، بما في ذلك توفير مساعدة تقنية وافية وبرامج لبناء القدرات، بغية تحسين قدرة الدول الأعضاء على اتخاذ تدابير فعّالة لمكافحة الاتجار بالأشخاص؛
