The goal of the Committee shall be to enable the members and associate members of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific to better design and implement pro-poor policies and strategies to attain the millennium development goals.
ويتمثل هدف لجنة الحد من الفقر في تمكين أعضاء اللجنة الاقتصادية والاجتماعية لآسيا والمحيط الهادئ وأعضائها المنتسبين من أن يصمموا وينفذوا على نحو أفضل سياسات واستراتيجيات منحازة للفقراء لتحقيق الأهداف الإنمائية للألفية.

9. The Institute shall have a Governing Council consisting of a representative designated by the Government of Japan and eight representatives nominated by other members and associate members of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific elected by the Commission.
9 - يكون للمعهد مجلس إدارة مكون من ممثل تعيِّـنه حكومة اليابان ومن ثمانية ممثلين يرشحهم أعضاء اللجنة الاقتصادية والاجتماعية لآسيا والمحيط الهادئ الآخرون والأعضاء المنتسبون إليها الذين تنتخبهم اللجنة.

3. The objectives of the Centre are to assist the members of the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia by strengthening their capabilities to develop and manage national systems; develop, transfer, adapt and apply technology; determine the suitable technology for the region and facilitate its development and improve the legal and commercial framework for the transfer of technology.
3 - تتمثل أهداف المركز في مساعدة أعضاء اللجنة الاقتصادية والاجتماعية لغرب آسيا عن طريق تعزيز قدراتها على وضع نظم وطنية وإدارتها، وتطوير التكنولوجيا ونقلها وتكييفها وتطبيقها، وتحديد التكنولوجيا المناسبة للمنطقة وتيسير تطويرها وتحسين الإطار القانوني والتجاري لنقل التكنولوجيا.
