The Chairman suggested, in the light of the statement by the representative of Bangladesh, that the Committee should recommend to the General Assembly that it should defer consideration of the modalities for operating the Development Account to its fifty-fourth session, with the understanding that the modalities would be finalized prior to consideration of the proposed programme budget for the biennium 2000–2001.
