A number of speakers noted that the future Model Bilateral Agreement should not prejudice the principles set forth in the United Nations Convention against Corruption, especially the provisions of chapter V, on asset recovery, or the development, at a later stage, of any appropriate mechanism to facilitate the implementation of that Convention.
