12. Expresses its growing concern for the security and freedom of movement throughout Angola of MONUA personnel, and calls upon the Government of Angola and in particular UNITA to ensure their safety;

9. Strongly condemns the attacks by members of UNITA on MONUA personnel and on Angolan national authorities, and demands that UNITA immediately stop such attacks, cooperate fully with MONUA and guarantee unconditionally the safety and freedom of movement of MONUA and other international personnel;
٩ - يدين بقوة الهجمات التي قام بها أعضاء يونيتا على أفراد بعثة مراقبي اﻷمم المتحدة في أنغولا وعلى السلطات الوطنية اﻷنغولية، ويطالب يونيتا بأن توقف هذه الهجمات على الفور، وأن تتعاون بصورة تامة مع البعثة، وأن تضمن بصورة غير مشروطة سلامة أفراد البعثة وغيرهم من الموظفين الدوليين وحرية تنقلهم؛

I also wish to express my appreciation to my Representative and Regional Humanitarian Adviser for the Great Lakes region, Mr. Berhanu Dinka, who temporarily joined MONUA as Senior Political Adviser, as well as all MONUA personnel, the staff of United Nations programmes and agencies and non-governmental organizations for the courage and dedication they have demonstrated in performing their tasks.
وأود أيضا أن أعرب عن تقديري لممثلي والمستشار اﻹقليمي للشؤون اﻹنسانية لمنطقة البحيرات الكبرى، السيد برهانو دينكا الذي انضم بصورة مؤقتة إلى بعثة مراقبي اﻷمم المتحدة في أنغولا بوصفه مستشارا سياسيا أقدم، وكذلك لجميع أفراد البعثة وموظفي برامج اﻷمم المتحدة ووكالاتها والمنظمات غير الحكومية، على ما أبدوه من شجاعة وتفان في أداء مهامهم.

On 4 December the members of the Council were briefed on developments in Angola, and the President made a statement to the press in which he expressed the Council’s grave concern for the safety and security of MONUA personnel in Andulo and Bailundo, which were under the control of UNITA, and demanded that UNITA permit their immediate and unconditional withdrawal from those localities.
وفي ٤ كانون اﻷول/ ديسمبر، استمع أعضاء المجلس إلى إحاطة عن التطورات الحاصلة في أنغولا وأدلى الرئيس ببيان إلى الصحافة أعرب فيه عن قلق المجلس الشديد بشأن سلامة وأمن أفراد البعثة في أندولو وبايلوندو، اللتين تقعان تحت سيطرة يونيتا، وطلب بأن يسمح يونيتا بانسحابهم الفوري وغير المشروط من هذين الموقعين.

Needless to say, the perpetrators of the attacks against MONUA personnel must be duly prosecuted.
