3. Since my interim report to the Council of 14 January 1995 (S/1995/38), there has been a significant escalation in military activity and tension between the two sides.

10. my interim report to the Council (S/2002/679) stressed that the conflict in Liberia constituted the most serious threat to the stability that now prevails in Sierra Leone.

7. It will be recalled that actions by the parties which if undertaken or maintained would constitute violations of military agreement No. 1 were reported in my interim report (S/2005/49).
