The Committee noted with satisfaction that the recommendations of the Nairobi Programme of Action for the Development and Utilization of New and Renewable Sources of Energy, which was adopted by the United Nations Conference on New and Renewable Sources of Energy (Nairobi, 10-21 August 1981), had generated a wide range of activities and enhanced awareness about the importance of energy resources.
١٠ - ولاحظت اللجنة مع الارتياح أن توصيات برنامج عمل نيروبي لتنمية واستغلال مصادر الطاقة الجديدة والمتجددة، الذي اعتمده برنامج اﻷمم المتحدة المعني بمصادر الطاقة الجديدة والمتجددة، المعقود في الفترة من ١٠ إلى ٢١ آب/أغسطس ١٩٨١، أفضت إلى طائفة عريضة من اﻷنشطة وعززت الوعي بأهمية موارد الطاقة.

" (b) Formulating and recommending action-oriented plans and programmes for carrying out the Nairobi Programme of Action in accordance with the priorities identified in paragraphs 47 to 56 of that Programme;

16. The third subprogramme has the objective of facilitating the implementation of the Nairobi Programme of Action for the Development and Utilization of New and Renewable Sources of Energy and relevant areas of Agenda 21, mainly through the monitoring of worldwide progress and the strengthening of coordination efforts within the United Nations system as regards activities in new and renewable sources of energy.
١٦ - ويتمثل هدف البرنامج الفرعي الثالث في تسهيل تنفيذ برنامج عمل نيروبي لتنمية واستخدام مصدار الطاقة الجديدة والمتجددة والمجالات ذات الصلة من جدول أعمال القرن ٢١، أساسا من خلال رصد التقدم العالمي وتعزيز تنسيق الجهود داخل منظومة اﻷمم المتحدة فيما يتعلق باﻷنشطة في مجال مصادر الطاقة الجديدة والمتجددة.

4. Progress in the implementation of the Nairobi Programme of Action was evaluated by the United Nations Intergovernmental Group of Experts on New and Renewable Sources of Energy, which met in New York from 26 to 30 August 1991 (see A/AC.218/1992/9).
٤ - وقد اضطلع بتقييم التقدم المحرز في تنفيذ برنامج عمل نيروبي فريق الخبراء الحكومي الدولي التابع لﻷمم المتحدة، المعني بمصادر الطاقة الجديدة والمتجددة، الذي اجتمع في نيويورك، من ٢٦ الى ٣٠ آب/أغسطس )انظر A/AC.2/48/1992/9(.

" (g) Monitoring the implementation and helping to ensure coordination of the measures established in the Nairobi Programme of Action as well as of the activities of the organs, organizations and bodies of the United Nations system in the field of new and renewable sources of energy;
" )ز( مراقبة تنفيذ التدابير المنصوص عليها في برنامج عمل نيروبي والمساعدة في ضمان تنسيقها، ومراقبة أنشطة أجهزة ومؤسسات وهيئات منظومة اﻷمم المتحدة في ميدان مصادر الطاقة الجديدة والمتجددة والمساعدة في ضمان تنسيقها؛

45. The Group of Experts noted that the main thrust of the Nairobi Programme of Action and its recommendations continued to be valid.
٥٤ - وأشار فريق الخبراء الى أن المنطلقات الرئيسية لبرنامج عمل نيروبي وتوصياته لا تزال صحيحة.
