Similarly, during a recent Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) workshop,3 the first and second priorities were to hold as many regional workshops, seminars and expert group meetings as possible and to hold national workshops in order to enhance the capabilities of national accountants.

8. However, it is fully recognized that for effective implementation to proceed, certain actions will need to be taken at the global and regional levels that focus on the delivery of training to national accountants through a programme involving technical assistance, training and making available handbooks that elaborate on the conceptual framework and provide practical guidance to compilers.
٨ - بيد أنه من المسلم به تماما أنه لكي يمضي التنفيذ الفعال في طريقه، ستدعو الحاجة الى اتخاذ إجراءات معينة على الصعيدين العالمي واﻹقليمي تركز على توفير التدريب للمحاسبين الوطنيين عن طريق برنامج يتضمن المساعدة التقنية، والتدريب ويتيح الكتيبات التي تستفيض في اﻹطار المفاهيمي ويوفر الارشاد العملي للقائمين بالتجميع.

(a) In collaboration with the United Nations regional commissions, regional workshops on the 1993 SNA update were held for national accountants in the Asia-Pacific region in April 2005, in Latin America and the Caribbean in October 2005 and August 2006, in Africa in November 2005 and in Western Asia in December 2006;
(أ) عقدت بالتعاون مع اللجان الإقليمية التابعة للأمم المتحدة حلقاتُ عمل للمحاسبين الوطنيين تناولت تحديث نظام الحسابات القومية لعام 1993، وذلك في منطقة آسيا والمحيط الهادئ في نيسان/أبريل 2005 وأمريكا اللاتينية والبحر الكاريبي في تشرين الأول/أكتوبر 2005 ونيسان/أبريل 2006 وفي أفريقيا في تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر 2005 وفي غرب آسيا في كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2006؛

The time-use data collection manual is being tested in Djibouti and Ghana to improve the skills of statisticians, national accountants and policy analysis experts in collecting, analyzing and integrating gender-disaggregated micro and macroeconomic statistics into national planning policies and instruments.
