It shall be my endeavour to encourage non-governmental organizations from all parts of the world to develop links with the Department and thus become partners in reaching out to the grass roots, so as to mobilize support for the United Nations.

However, we note that the issues of legal and financial implications of modifying the current arrangements for non-governmental organization participation, with a view to enhancing their participation in all areas of the United Nations system, and the question of the participation of non-governmental organizations from all regions, particularly from developing countries, have not been adequately addressed.

47. As regards the question of access to information, intergovernmental organizations and specialized agencies stressed that computerized databases played an important role in ensuring participation by non-governmental organizations from all parts of the world.
٤٧ - وفيما يتعلـق بمسألـة الحصـول على المعلومـات، أكـدت المنظمـات الحكوميـة الدوليــة والوكالات المتخصصة أن قواعد البيانات المحوسبة تؤدي دورا هاما في كفالة مشاركة المنظمات غير الحكومية من جميع أنحاء العالم.

UNIFEM also supported the participation of non-governmental organizations from all regions at meetings of the Commission, and hosted a meeting of the African Women's Caucus enabling the group to meet with and dialogue with United Nations agencies gender focal points.

٤٦-٥- يُطلب إلى اﻷمين العام أن يعرف على نطاق واسع بهذا القرار من خلال القنوات المناسبة لتيسير إشراك المنظمات غير الحكومية من جميع مناطق وأنحاء العالم.
