At its 13th meeting, on 29 January 2008, the Committee considered the application of the International Association of Women Judges, a merger between International Women Judges Federation, an organization in special consultative status with the Council, and International Association of Women Judges, an organization not in consultative status with the Council.

This request was made pursuant to Economic and Social Council resolution 1996/31, which provides for non-governmental organizations not in consultative status with the Council to request special accreditation for world conferences and their preparatory processes.

At its 27th meeting, on 22 May 2009, the Committee considered Council resolution 2006/46 and decision 2008/217, in which the Council had invited the Committee on Non-Governmental Organizations to consider the applications of nongovernmental organizations and civil society entities not in consultative status with the Council, but which had received accreditation to the World Summit on the Information Society.

37. At the same meeting, the Committee decided to recommend that the Economic and Social Council authorize 12 organizations of indigenous people not in consultative status with the Council to participate in the Working Group (see sect. I.A, draft decision III).

At its 2nd meeting, on 1 May 2000, the Preparatory Committee decided, without a vote, to accredit, in accordance with Economic and Social Council resolution 1996/31 of 25 July 1996 governing the participation of nongovernmental organizations in international conferences convened by the United Nations, and their preparatory processes, 11 nongovernmental organizations not in consultative status with the Council.

3. The present report is prepared in response to the above requests and contains proposals on accreditation criteria and procedures for those non-governmental organizations and other major groups currently not in consultative status with the Council, and participation of major groups in the World Summit and its preparatory process.

By that draft decision, the Council would approve (a) the participation of 14 organizations of indigenous people not in consultative status with the Council in the Working Group and (b) the participation of two organizations (L'auravetl'an Foundation (Liechtenstein) and Organización de la Nación Aymara (Peru)) not in consultative status with the Council, on a provisional basis, pending receipt of the views of the Government concerned.

88. At its 49th meeting, on 24 January 2003, the Committee resumed its consideration of item 2 and recommended the participation of the following three organizations of indigenous people not in consultative status with the Council in the open-ended inter-sessional working group of the Commission on Human Rights established pursuant to Council resolution 1995/32 (see chap. I, draft decision III).

11. The Bureau requested the Secretariat to establish a procedure to allow non-governmental organizations not in consultative status with the Council to apply for accreditation to the forty-seventh session of the Commission.

In accordance with Economic and Social Council resolution 1995/32, the Committee will continue its consideration of applications from organizations of indigenous people not in consultative status with the Council that are interested in participating in the open-ended inter-sessional Working Group of the Commission on Human Rights to elaborate a draft declaration on the rights of indigenous people.

24. At its thirty-eighth session the Commission accredited for participation in the Conference 102 non-governmental organizations that are not in consultative status with the Council or on the roster.
٢٤ - وقد اعتمدت لجنة مركز المرأة في دورتها الثامنة والثلاثين، ١٠٢ من المنظمات غير الحكومية التي لا تتمتع بمركز استشاري لدى المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي أو ليست مدرجة بالسجل وذلك لغرض المشاركة في المؤتمر.

73. At the same meeting, the Committee decided to recommend that the Economic and Social Council authorize four organizations of indigenous people not in consultative status with the Council to participate in the work of the working group (see sect. I.A above, draft decision III).
