ونحن نعلم جيدا أن الحد من التسلح النووي لا يوفر الكثير من الطمأنينة لسكان العالم، لأنه يمكن حتى لسلاح نووي واحد أن يُحدث، عن قصد أو عن غير قصد، دمارا لا يوصف.

1- أكدت حكومة إندونيسيا، في تقريرها الأول الذي قدمته أثناء شهر نيسان/أبريل الماضي، أهمية الانضمام إلى القواعد العالمية لعدم الانتشار النووي وتأييد هدف إلغاء التسلح النووي إلغاءً تاماً.

Yet, most regrettably, Israel continues to refuse to begin any negotiations on limiting nuclear armaments within the multilateral working group emanating from the Madrid Conference, in addition to refusing continually to take any confidence-building measures regarding inspection of its nuclear facilities in order to prove its sincerity.

My delegation also voted in favour of draft resolution A/C.1/50/L.19/Rev.1, concerning the risk of Israeli nuclear armaments in the Middle East, and would like to explain its position.
وصــوت وفــدي كذلــك لصــالح القــرار A/C.1/50/L.19/Rev.1 بشأن خطر التسلح النووي الاسرائيلي في الشرق اﻷوسط. ويود وفدي أن يوضح موقفه من هذا القرار.

As the Commission is expected to complete consideration of this agenda item during this session, my delegation believes that it will be possible to finalize guidelines and recommendations, thereby providing further impetus to the efforts to reduce nuclear armaments and thus contribute to the objective of the total elimination of nuclear weapons.

6. The Conference notes that the cessation of the nuclear-arms race has been manifested in many ways, the most notable demonstration being the deep cuts in nuclear armaments by the United States of America and the Russian Federation.
٦ - ويحيط المؤتمر علما بأن وقف سباق التسلح النووي قد تجلى في مظاهر عدة، أهمها إحداث تخفيضات حادة في الترسانات النووية من جانب الولايات المتحدة والاتحاد الروسي.

The creation of a nuclear-weapon-free zone in South-East Asia and the signing of the Pelindaba Treaty on a nuclear-weapon free zone in Africa are but two examples of the practical application of the principle of limiting nuclear armaments and of the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons.
ولعل التوقيع على معاهدة إنشاء منطقة خالية من اﻷسلحة النووية في جنوب شرقي آسيا، وكذلك التوقيـــع على معاهدة " بليندابا " الخاصة بإنشـــاء منطقـــة خالية من اﻷسلحة النووية في أفريقيا، يعتبران مثليــن على هذا التطبيق العملي لمبدأ الحد من التسلح النووي ومنع انتشار اﻷسلحة النووية.

The State of Qatar follows with great interest the developments in the Russian Federation. We hope that that Federation will overcome its crises so that it may continue to perform its important role in resolving global crises in its capacity as a permanent member of the Security Council, a co-sponsor of the peace negotiations in the Middle East and a participant that has taken significant steps in the area of limiting nuclear armaments.
تتابع دولة قطر باهتمام شديد تطور اﻷحداث في الاتحاد الروسي، وتأمل أن يتجاوز الشعب الروسي هذه اﻷزمة حتى يستمر في القيام بدوره الهام في المشاركة الفعالة في حل المشكلات العالمية حلا سلميا، كعضو دائم في مجلس اﻷمن، ولدفع مسيرة السلام في الشرق اﻷوسط بصفته أحد راعيي هذه المسيرة، ولتثبيت ودعم ما اتخذه من إجراءات في مجال الحد من التسلح النووي.
