3. The Parties shall cooperate with each other and through competent intergovernmental organizations, as well as with non-governmental organizations, in undertaking and supporting public awareness and educational programmes in both affected and, where relevant, unaffected country Parties to promote understanding of the causes and effects of desertification and drought and of the importance of meeting the objective of this Convention.
٣- تتعاون اﻷطراف بعضها مع بعض وعن طريق المنظمات الحكومية الدولية المختصة، وكذلك مع المنظمات غير الحكومية، في تنفيذ ودعم برامج توعية عامة وتعليم في البلدان المتأثرة اﻷطراف وكذلك، عند الاقتضاء، في البلدان اﻷطراف غير المتأثرة، لتعزيز فهم أسباب وآثار التصحر والجفاف وأهمية تحقيق هدف هذه الاتفاقية.

The objective of the Stockholm Convention, which entered into force on 17 May 2004, is set forth in article 1 ( " Objective " ): " Mindful of the precautionary approach as set forth in Principle 15 of the Rio Declaration on Environment and Development, the objective of this Convention is to protect human health and the environment from persistent organic pollutants " .
هدف اتفاقية استكهولم والتي دخلت حيز النفاذ في 17 أيار/مايو 2004، يرد بالمادة 1 ( " الهدف " ): " مع وضع النهج التحوطي الوارد في المبدأ 15 من إعلان ريو بشأن البيئة والتنمية في الاعتبار، فإن هدف هذه الاتفاقية هو حماية الصحة البشرية والبيئة من الملوثات العضوية الثابتة. "

The objective of this Convention is to protect human health and the environment from anthropogenic releases of mercury and mercury compounds.
الهدف من هذه الاتفاقية هو حماية صحة الإنسان والبيئة من الإطلاقات البشرية المنشأ للزئبق ومركّبات الزئبق الأراضي.

In order to achieve the objective of this Convention and to implement its provisions, the Parties shall be guided, inter alia, by the following:
المبــادئ تسترشد اﻷطراف، في سعيها إلى تحقيق الهدف من هذه الاتفاقية وتنفيذ أحكامها، بجملة أمور منها ما يلي:

1. Each Party undertakes to provide, within its capabilities, financial support and incentives in respect of those national activities that are intended to achieve the objective of this Convention in accordance with its national plans, priorities and programmes.
1 - يتعهّد كل طرف بأن يقدِّم، في حدود قدراته، دعماً مالياً وحوافز للأنشطة الوطنية التي تهدف إلى تحقيق الهدف من هذه الاتفاقية وفقاً لخططه الوطنية وأولوياته وبرامجه.

Option 1: The objective of this Convention is to protect human health and the environment from anthropogenic releases of mercury and its compounds [by minimizing, and where feasible ultimately eliminating, global anthropogenic mercury releases to air, water and land].
الخيار 1: الهدف من هذه الاتفاقية هو حماية صحة الإنسان والبيئة من انبعاثات الزئبق ومركّباته البشرية المنشأ [بالإقلال إلى أدنى حد من انبعاثات الزئبق البشرية المنشأ العالمية في الهواء والماء واليابسة، وبالقضاء على تلك الانبعاثات في نهاية المطاف، حيثما أمكن].

1. Each [developed-country] Party [undertakes to] [shall] provide[, within its capabilities,] financial support and incentives in respect of those national activities [of developing-country Parties] that are intended to achieve the objective of this Convention [in accordance with its national plans, priorities and programmes].
1 - [يتعهد] كل طرف [من بلد متقدم النمو بـ] [على كل طرف من بلد متقدم النمو] أن يقدم [، في حدود قدراته،] دعماً مالياً وحوافز للأنشطة الوطنية [للأطراف من البلدان النامية] التي يُقصد بها تحقيق الهدف من هذه الاتفاقية [وفقاً لخططه وأولوياته وبرامجه الوطنية].

The Stockholm Convention objective concludes clearly and succinctly, " the objective of this Convention is to protect human health and the environment from persistent organic pollutants " , while the Biosafety Protocol states:
ويختتم هدف اتفاقية استكهولم بوضوح وإيجاز قائلاً: " إن الهدف من هذه الاتفاقية هو حماية الصحة البشرية والبيئة من الملوثات العضوية الثابتة، " () بينما يقول بروتوكول السلامة الأحيائية:

" The objective of this Convention is to promote shared responsibility and cooperative efforts among Parties in the international trade of certain hazardous chemicals ... by facilitating information exchange about their characteristics, by providing for a national decisionmaking process on their import and export and by disseminating these decisions to Parties. "
" الهدف من هذه الاتفاقية هو تشجيع المشاركة في المسؤولية وفي الجهود التعاونية فيما بين الأطراف في الاتجار الدولي بمواد كيميائية خطرة معينة بغية حماية صحة البشر والبيئة من الأضرار المحتملة والمساهمة في استخدامها استخداماً " سليماً بيئياً " .
