With regard to the first of these items, we would like to thank Mr. Yaw Odei Osei of Ghana, who, in his capacity as Chairman of Working Group I, has held informal consultations with delegations on the possible content of the document that will guide our work in the course of this session.

Fortunately, as I said earlier, we do not have to deal with the appointments of the Chairpersons for the two subsidiary bodies since last year's Chairpersons, Mr. Yaw Odei Osei of Ghana and Ms. Gabriela Martinic of Argentina, will continue in that capacity for the final remaining year of the consideration of those items.

Based on proposals discussed at the last session and in the intersessional period, the former Chairman of Working Group I, Mr. Yaw Odei Osei, has prepared a revised working paper that offers an extensive survey of relevant achievements, developments and mechanisms in the field of nuclear disarmament.
وعلى أساس المقترحات التي نوقشت في الدورة الأخيرة وفي فترة ما بين الدورتين، أعد الرئيس السابق للفريق العامل الأول، السيد ياو أودي أوسي، ورقة عمل منقحة تقدم مسحا واسعا للإنجازات والتطورات والآليات ذات الصلة في ميدان نزع السلاح النووي.

3. The Conference unanimously elected Ambassador Adam Kobieracki (Poland) as the Chairman of the Committee and Ambassador Dae-won Suh (Republic of Korea) and Yaw Odei Osei (Ghana) as Vice-Chairmen of the Committee.

He had been informed that the Movement of Non-Aligned Countries had endorsed the candidacies of Mr. Yaw Odei Osei (Ghana) and Mr. Hamid Baeidi Nejad (Islamic Republic of Iran) for the posts of Vice-Chairmen of Main Committees II and III, respectively.
