The first paragraph of Annex E, quoted below, which is substantially the same as that in paragraph (7) (a) of Article 8, has raised some discussions in the development of risk profiles and at the meetings of the Committee:

Paragraph (b) of Annex E to the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants lists a hazard assessment for the endpoint or endpoints of concern, including a consideration of toxicological interactions involving multiple chemicals, as an element of the risk profiles to be prepared by the Persistent Organic Pollutants Review Committee.

That format had been designed to request submission of the types of information referred to in paragraphs (a) - (g) of Annex E. The Chair affirmed that such a format would have recommendatory status only and that information could also be submitted in other formats, but that the format proposed would best facilitate the work of the Committee.
