The 18-member task force jointly monitors the implementation of various aspects of the resolution, in which the Council underlined the vital role of women in conflict resolution and mandated a review of the impact of armed conflict on women and girls, the role of women in peace-building, and the gender dimensions of peace processes and conflict resolution.

II. Impact of armed conflict on women and girls
ثانيا - تأثير الصراع المسلح على النساء والفتيات

Pursuant to the resolution, the Secretary-General submitted a report to the Security Council (S/2002/1154) which provides a study on the impact of armed conflict on women and girls.
وعملاً بالقرار، قدم الأمين العام تقريراً إلى مجلس الأمن (S/2002/1154) يتضمن دراسة عن أثر النزاع المسلح في النساء والفتيات.

118. In the four years since the adoption of resolution 1325 (2000), there has been a positive shift in international understanding of the impact of armed conflict on women and girls and the importance of women's participation as equal partners in all areas related to peace and security.
118- شهد العالم في السنوات الأربع التي أعقبت اتخاذ القرار 1325 (2000) تحولا إيجابيا في فهم أثر الصراع المسلح على المرأة والفتاة وأهمية مشاركة المرأة باعتبارها شريكة على قدم المساواة مع الرجل في جميع المجالات المتصلة بالسلام والأمن.

Members of the Council look forward to the report of the Secretary-General on the results of a study on the impact of armed conflict on women and girls, the role of women in peace-building and the gender dimensions of peace processes and conflict resolution, to be carried out in accordance with the resolution.

2. Recognizes the need for timely information and analysis on the impact of armed conflict on women and girls, the role of women in peacebuilding and the gender dimensions of peace processes and conflict resolution for situations on the Council's agenda, and therefore:
2 - يسلم بضرورة توافر معلومات وتحليلات آنية تتناول أثر النزاع المسلح في النساء والفتيات ودور المرأة في بناء السلام وأبعاد عمليات السلام المتصلة بالمرأة ومسألة تسوية النزاع، وذلك فيما يخص الحالات المدرجة في جدول أعمال المجلس، ومن ثم:

It encouraged Member States and the Secretary-General to establish regular contacts with local women's groups and networks in order to utilize their knowledge of the impact of armed conflict on women and girls.
وشجع الدول الأعضاء والأمين العام على إقامة اتصالات منتظمة مع الجماعات والشبكات النسائية المحلية للاستفادة من معارفها المتعلقة بأثر النزاعات المسلحة على النساء والفتيات.

7. The Secretary-General's study, called for in Security Council resolution 1325 (2000) on women, peace and security, and the report, based on the study, presented to the Security Council (S/2002/1154) addressed the impact of armed conflict on women and girls, the role of women in peace-building and the gender dimensions of peace processes and conflict resolution.
