The International Federation of Associations of the Elderly (FIAPA) addressed ageing issues confronting its regional members at a celebration of its twentieth anniversary in Brussels in October 2000, with members from Africa, Eastern Europe and Latin America and the Caribbean.
وتناول الاتحاد الدولي لرابطات المسنين قضايا الشيخوخة التي تواجه أعضاءه الإقليميين في الاحتفال بالذكرى السنوية العشرين لإنشائه الذي جرى في بروكسل في تشرين الأول/أكتوبر 2000، وشارك فيه أعضاء من أفريقيا وشرق أوروبا وأمريكا اللاتينية ومنطقة البحر الكاريبي.

The International Federation of Associations of the Elderly (FIAPA) would like to thank the Economic and Social Council for taking account of some of its proposals in what the Council adopted in plenary meeting. These proposals concerned the protection of vulnerable persons (older persons, women and children) in areas of conflict and the protection of older women, particularly in rural areas.
يعرب الاتحاد الدولي لرابطات المسنين عن شكره للمجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي إذ أخذ في الاعتبار بعض مقترحاتنا، وخاصة اقتراحنا باعتماد الجلسة العامة البند المتعلق بحماية الأشخاص المستضعفين (المسنون والنساء والأطفال) في مناطق الصراع وحماية المسنات، وخاصة في المناطق الريفية.

The International Federation of Associations of the Elderly (FIAPA) is the only world organization composed exclusively of Associations of the Elderly, enabling them to represent themselves at the major international organizations. It has branches on the five continents and at the moment comprises 175 associations in 70 countries, or about 300 million elderly persons.
الرابطة الدولية لاتحادات المسنين هي المنظمة العالمية الوحيدة التي تضم حصرا اتحادات للمسنين ليمثلوا أنفسهم بأنفسهم لدى المنظمات الدولية الكبرى.وللرابطة وجود في القارات الخمس وهي تضم حاليا 175 رابطة في 70 بلدا، تضم ما يقارب 300 مليون من المسنين.
