2. In fulfilment of the responsibilities entrusted to him under Article XVI of the Treaty and in the light of the responsibilities of the Commission under paragraph 18 of the Resolution, the Secretary-General of the United Nations shall transmit to the Commission copies of communications received by the Secretary-General of the United Nations in the capacity of Depositary of the Treaty.
2- يرسل الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة إلى اللجنة، في إطار القيام بالمسؤوليات الملقاة على عاتقه بموجب المادة السادسة عشرة من الاتفاقية، وفي ضوء مسؤوليات اللجنة بموجب الفقرة 18 من القرار، نسخا من الرسائل التي يتلقاها الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة بصفته الوديع لهذه المعاهدة.

17. Aside from the traditional forms of repression of human rights, such as extrajudicial, summary or arbitrary executions, arbitrary detention and torture, a large number of communications received by the Special Rapporteur concern systematic harassment of human rights defenders, their relatives or persons associated with them, aimed at preventing them from undertaking human rights activities.
