C. Social and economic integration of documented migrants

Stressing that, as stated in the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development, family reunification of documented migrants is an important factor in international migration and that remittances by documented migrants to their countries of origin often constitute a very important source of foreign exchange and are instrumental in improving the well-being of relatives left behind,
وإذ تؤكد، وفقا لما ورد في برنامج عمل المؤتمر الدولي للسكان والتنمية()، أن جمع شمل أسر المهاجرين المقيمين إقامة شرعية عامل مهم في الهجرة الدولية وأن التحويلات المالية من المهاجرين المقيمين إقامة شرعية إلى بلدانهم الأصلية تشكل في أحيان كثيرة مصدرا للعملات الأجنبية هاما للغاية ولها أثر فعال في رفع مستوى حياة ذويهم الباقين في البلد الأصلي،

37. The draft resolution also reaffirmed that all Governments, especially those of receiving countries, must recognize the importance of family reunification and promote its incorporation into national legislation in order to protect the unity of families of documented migrants.
37 - وأضافت أن مشروع القرار يعيد أيضا تأكيد أن من واجب جميع الحكومات، ولا سيما حكومات البلدان المستقبلة، الاعتراف بأهمية جمع شمل الأسرة والعمل على إدخاله في تشريعاتها الوطنية من أجل كفالة وحدة أسر المهاجرين الحائزين للوثائق اللازمة.

2. The World Population Plan of Action1 adopted at the World Population Conference in Bucharest in 1974 addressed the needs of documented migrants by focusing primarily on those admitted as workers.
٢ - تناولت خطة العمل العالمية للسكان)١(، التي اعتمدت في المؤتمر العالمي للسكان في بوخارست في عام ١٩٧٤، احتياجات المهاجرين الحاملين لوثائق عن طريق التركيز أساسا على أولئك المقبولين بوصفهم عمالا.

The former need to know and respect the values, laws, traditions and principles of the host society, which in turn should respect the religions, cultures and traditions of documented migrants;
ويلزم أن يعرف ويحترم المهاجرون الذين يحملون وثائق قيم المجتمع المضيف وقوانينه وتقاليده ومبادئه، وينبغي أن يحترم المجتمع المضيف بدوره أديان المهاجرين الذين يحملون وثائق وثقافاتهم وتقاليدهم؛
