The Convention on the Rights of the Child defines a child as " every human being below the age of eighteen years unless under the law applicable to the child, majority is attained earlier " (art. 1).
تنص اتفاقية حقوق الطفل على تعريف الطفل بأنه " كل إنسان لم يتجاوز الثامنة عشرة ما لم يبلغ سن الرشد قبل ذلك بموجب القانون المنطبق عليه " (المادة 1).

(a) " Child " means, as in article 1 of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, " every human being below the age of eighteen years unless under the law applicable to the child, majority is attained earlier " ;
(أ) يعني تعبير " الطفل " ، حسبما جاء في المادة ١ من اتفاقية حقوق الطفل، " كل إنسان لم يتجاوز الثامنة عشرة ما لم يبلغ سنَّ الرشد قبل ذلك بموجب القانون المنطبق عليه " ؛

The definitions of the child, as set forth in Syrian legislation, are basically consistent with the definition contained in article 1 of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, which stipulates that a child means " every human being below the age of eighteen years unless, under the law applicable to the child, majority is attained earlier " .
٧٢- جاءت التعريفات الخاصة بالطفل في التشريع السوري منسجمة في أصولها مع التعريف الوارد في المادة ١ من اتفاقية حقوق الطفل وهي: " كل انسان لم يتجاوز الثامنة عشرة ما لم يبلغ سن الرشد قبل ذلك بموجب القانون المطبق عليه " .
