The increase was largely made up of representatives of ethnic nationalities, including ceasefire groups that had emerged in the new political environment created as a result of ceasefire agreements between the Government and 17 former armed groups.

It has been tirelessly striving for the all round development of the country, including the border areas where majority of ethnic nationalities live.

(a) To ensure that the remainder of the National Convention, in particular the subsequent constitution-drafting exercise, becomes genuinely inclusive, through the unhindered participation of all political parties and representatives of ethnic nationalities;

It has been striving for the all-round development of the country, paying attention to closing the gap between urban centres and rural areas, including the border areas where the majority of ethnic nationalities live.
