The Centre also provided support to strengthening the nuclear-weapon-free zone established by the Treaty for the Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons in Latin America and the Caribbean (Treaty of Tlatelolco), as well as promoting and assisting the ratification and implementation of existing multilateral agreements related to weapons of mass destruction.
