Article 9 (5) of the Trafficking in Persons Protocol calls upon State Parties to discourage the demand that fosters all forms of exploitation of persons and leads to human trafficking.

(ز) يحثّ كذلك الدول الأطراف على أن تتخذ أو تعزز التدابير الرامية إلى ردع الطلب الذي يعزّز كل أشكال استغلال الأشخاص المفضية إلى الاتجار، وخاصة تلك التي تستهدف النساء والأطفال؛

Destination countries should introduce measures to reduce the invisibility of exploitation through greater intelligence gathering on the labour markets and in the sex industry and by addressing the problem of unprotected and informal labour, taking measures to raise levels of social protection and adopting measures, whether legislative, educational, social or cultural, to discourage the demand that fosters all forms of exploitation of persons.

Article 9 (5) of the Protocol to Prevent, Suppress and Punish Trafficking in Persons, especially Women and Children [The Trafficking in Persons Protocol] calls upon State Parties to discourage the demand that fosters all forms of exploitation of persons and leads to human trafficking.
فالفقرة (5) من المادة 9 من بروتوكول منع وقمع ومعاقبة الاتجار بالأشخاص، وبخاصة النساء والأطفال [بروتوكول الاتجار بالأشخاص] تدعو الدول الأطراف إلى صد الطلب الذي يحفز جميع أشكال استغلال الأشخاص ويفضي إلى الاتجار بالبشر.

(g) To adopt or strengthen legislative or other measures to discourage the demand that fosters all forms of exploitation of persons and leads to trafficking in persons, including the demand created by sex tourism, especially in children, and forced labour, and to enhance, in this regard, preventive measures, including legislative measures, to deter exploiters of trafficked persons and to ensure their accountability;

50. The Palermo Protocol addresses demand in its article 9 (5), which provides that States parties " shall adopt or strengthen legislative or other measures, such as educational, social or cultural measures, including through bilateral and multilateral cooperation, to discourage the demand that fosters all forms of exploitation of persons, especially women and children, that leads to trafficking " .
50- ويتصدى بروتوكول باليرمو للطلب في مادته 9(5) التي تنص على أن " تعتمد الدول الأطراف أو تُعزز تدابير تشريعية أو تدابير أخرى، مثل التدابير التعليمية أو الاجتماعية أو الثقافية، بوسائل منها التعاون الثنائي والمتعدد الأطراف، من أجل عدم تشجيع الطلب الذي يُحفّز جميع أشكال استغلال الأشخاص التي تُفضي إلى الاتجار، وبخاصة استغلال النساء والأطفال " .
