In this regard, a joint AU-UN expert meeting is being organized early November 2009 on improving interaction between the Universal Periodic Review (UPR), the APRM and the Right to Development and to discuss modalities to improve co-operation and coordination of action between the UN and the AU to strengthen the promotion and protection of human rights in Africa.
