As articulated in the preamble and in Articles 1 and 2 of the Charter, the international community cannot have peace and security unless the rights of individuals and their fundamental freedoms are supported.
وكما أشير إلى ذلك بوضوح في ديباجة الميثاق والمادتين 1 و 2 منه، لا يمكن للمجتمع الدولي أن يعيش في سلام وأمن إلا بكفالة حقوق الأفراد وحرياتهم الأساسية.

6- تؤكد مجدداً ضرورة أن تعمل جميع الدول على التمسك بكرامة الأفراد وحرياتهم الأساسية وحمايتها، فضلاً عن التمسك بالممارسات الديمقراطية وسيادة القانون وحمايتها، في سياق مكافحة الإرهاب على نحو ما أكده الأمين العام في تقريره (A/59/404) المقدم عملاً بقرار الجمعية العامة 58/187 المؤرخ 22 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2003؛
