It may be recalled that the value of informal consultations among Parties on matters relating to communication of information has been recognized by all Parties (see A/AC.237/41, para. 66) and the SBSTA has requested the secretariat to facilitate the exchange and sharing of information among Parties, including forums in which discussions of technical and common aspects of such communication could be undertaken (FCCC/SBSTA/1995/3, para. 35 (b));
