وقد حدث عدد من التطورات الإيجابية في السنوات الأخيرة، بما فيها المحادثات التي جرت بين كوريا الجنوبية وكوريا الشمالية وأنشطة التعاون في المجال الاقتصادي وفي المجالات الأخرى، مما يساعد على زيادة الثقة بالنفس لدى الجانبين وإقامة علاقات أكثر ودية تقود إلى المصالحة.
