٤٣ - وتطرق الى القضية اﻷخرى المدرجة في جدول اﻷعمال، وهي الاحتياجات الخاصة للبلدان النامية غير الساحلية وبلدان المرور العابر النامية فقال إن جمهورية إيران اﻹسلامية تعلق أهمية كبيرة على التعاون اﻹقليمي في آسيا ومنطقة المحيط الهادئ.

There are several UNCTAD technical assistance activities from which a number of land-locked and transit developing countries continue to benefit in that they have a direct bearing on their transit needs.
٤٣- وهناك عدة أنشطة نفذها اﻷونكتاد في مجال المساعدة التقنية لا يزال عدد من البلدان النامية غير الساحلية وبلدان المرور العابر النامية يستفيد منها لكونها تؤثر تأثيرا مباشرا على احتياجات النقل العابر لديها.

4. With regard to the follow-up to these studies, in paragraph 11 of the resolution, the Assembly invited the Secretary-General of UNCTAD to convene subregional symposiums/workshops of experts of land-locked and transit developing countries, on the basis of these studies.

In his opening statement, the representative of the UNCTAD secretariat said that the particular needs and problems of land-locked and transit developing countries had been a subject of discussions in various international fora for many years and, in spite of several initiatives by the land-locked developing countries and the international community, the challenges that they still faced continued to be formidable.
