The range and diversity of mandated tasks assigned to uniformed personnel in peacekeeping operations have expanded considerably as United Nations peacekeepers work increasingly with numerous entities, including regional organizations, requiring greater planning coordination and standardization, as well as interoperability between peacekeeping missions.
