An Iranian boat with a machine-gun mounted in the bow and four persons in military uniform on board seized the Iraqi fishing boats Musallam 60 and Al-Mahrus bi-Allah and their crews of 13 Iraqi fishermen. 8. At 1030 hours on 23 May 1998 the United States frigate Simpson (No. 56) was seen manoeuvring 5 nautical miles south of Mina'al-Bakr.
٨ - في الساعة ١٠٣٠ من يوم ٢٣ أيار/ مايو ١٩٩٨ شوهدت الفرقاطة اﻷمريكية رقم )٥٦( سمسون تناور جنوب ميناء البكر بمسافة ٥ أميال.

4. On 14 and 17 October 1997 United States frigate No. 46 manoeuvred 500 metres to the south of Mina'al-Bakr port. A United States helicopter from the frigate then overflew the port in a provocative manner.
٤ - في يوم ١٤ و ١٧/١٠/١٩٩٧ قامت الفرقاطة اﻷمريكية رقم )٤٦( بالمناورة جنوب ميناء البكر بمسافة )٥٠٠( متر وثم حلقت طائرة مروحية أمريكية تابعة للفرقاطة أعلاه بطريقة استفزازية فوق الميناء.

At 1130 hours a group of some 30 Iranian civilians, men and women, was seen with a number of vehicles coming from a point inside Iranian territory at coordinates 598176 (1:100,000 map of Mina'al-Bakr).

On instructions from my Government, I have the honour to inform you that between 11 and 14 November 1994 a number of United States helicopters overflew the Iraqi port of Mina'al-Bakr several times a day at different altitudes.
بناء على توجيهات من حكومتي، لي الشرف أن أحيطكم علما أنه خلال الفترة من ١١ تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر ١٩٩٤ ولغاية ١٤ منه قامت عدة طائرات مروحية أمريكية بالتحليق لعدة مرات باليوم على ارتفاعات متفاوتة فوق ميناء البكر العراقي.

1. At 1945 hours on 5 July 1996 the Iraqi fishing boat Shatt al-Arab was subjected to a search by personnel from a United States frigate on station near the Iraqi port of Mina'al-Bakr.
١ - في الساعة )٤٥/١٩( من يوم ٥ تموز/يوليه ١٩٩٦ تعرضت باخرة صيد اﻷسماك العراقية )شط العرب( للتفتيش من قبل أفراد فرقاطة أمريكية متواجدة قرب ميناء البكر العراقي.

1. At 1045 hours on 14 October 1997, the United States frigate Rentz (No. 46) positioned itself 500 metres south of Mina'al-Bakr. A United States military helicopter took off from it and hovered over the port for five minutes before returning to the frigate.
١ - في الساعة ١٠٤٥ من يوم ١٤ تشرين اﻷول/أكتوبر ١٩٩٧، ناورت الفرقاطة اﻷمريكية رقم ٤٦ جنوب ميناء البكر بمسافة ٥٠٠ متر ثم حلقت طائرة مروحية حربية أمريكية تابعة لهذه الفرقاطة فوق الميناء لمدة ٥ دقائق ثم عادت الى الفرقاطة.

4. At 0900 hours on 17 October 1997, the United States frigate Rentz (No. 46) resumed its manoeuvres 700 metres south of Mina'al-Bakr. A helicopter from the frigate hovered over the port for five minutes before returning to the vessel.
٤ - في الساعة ٠٩٠٠ من يوم ١٧ تشرين اﻷول/أكتوبر ١٩٩٧، عاودت الفرقاطة اﻷمريكية رقم ٤٦ المناورة جنوبي ميناء البكر بمسافة ٧٠٠ متر ثم حلقت طائرة مروحية تابعة لهذه الفرقاطة فوق ميناء البكر لمدة ٥ دقائق وعادت الى ظهر الفرقاطة.

At 1300 hours on 26 October 1995, a British frigate bearing the number 89 lowered a boat with an officer and three men on board carrying weapons. They drew alongside the Iraqi tug Dimashq, which was at anchor inside Iraqi territorial waters 1.5 nautical miles west of Mina'al-Bakr, and questioned its master for half an hour.
ففي الساعة ٠٠/١٣ من يوم ٢٦/١٠/١٩٩٥ قامت الفرقاطة البريطانية )٨٩( بإنزال زورقها الذي يحمل ٤ أفراد ضباط و ٣ مراتب حاملين أسلحتهم والرسو على الساحبة العراقية )دمشق( التي كانت واقفة على بعد ١,٥ ميل غرب ميناء البكر داخل المياه اﻹقليمية العراقية. وتم استجواب ربانها لمدة نصف ساعة.

3. At 1300 hours on 17 April 1997, near buoy 15 inside Iraqi territorial waters, a grey-coloured helicopter armed with two missiles coming from the United States frigate Halyburton on station to the south of Mina'al-Bakr and Mina'al-Amiq flew over an Iraqi patrol boat at very low altitude.
٣ - في السـاعة ١٣٠٠ من يوم ١٧/٤/١٩٩٧ حلقـت طائرة مروحيــة )لون رصــاصي( مســلحة بصاروخين، تابعة للفرقاطة اﻷمريكية )هالي بورتن( المتواجدة جنوب ميناء البكر والعميق، فوق أحد زوارق الدورية العراقية قرب العوامة )١٥( داخل المياه اﻹقليمية العراقية وبارتفاع منخفض جدا.

At 1700 hours four small Iranian fibreglass patrol boats fitted with medium machine-guns were seen near Mina'al-Bakr at coordinates 8686 (1:100,000 map of Mina'al-Bakr). They were pursued by Iraqi patrol boats and made their escape.
في الساعة ٠٠/١٧ شوهدت أربعة زوارق دورية صغيرة إيرانية من نوع فايبر كلاس مسلحة برشاشة متوسطة وذلك بالقرب من مينـاء البكر في م ت )٨٦٨٦( خارطة ميناء البكر ١/٠٠٠ ١٠٠ وقد طاردتها زوارق دورية عراقية حيث لاذت الزوارق اﻹيرانية بالفرار.

15. 31 August 1999 The Iranian side installed steel piles in the Shatt al-Arab opposite the Faw area and Ra's al-Bishah at coordinates 620165, 635162, 648156, 662154, 670152 and 674149 (1:100,000 map of Mina'al-Bakr).
