Any act which prevents a Syrian from exercising his constitutional rights is punishable, under the terms of article 319 of the Penal Code, by a penalty of detention for a term of one month to one year.
وكل فعل يعوق ممارسة السوري لحقوقه الدستورية يعاقب عليه في المادة 319 من قانون العقوبات بالحبس من شهر إلى سنة.

Article 463 of the same Code prescribes a penalty of detention for a term of one month to one year for:
ويعاقب بالحبس من شهر إلى سنة حسب المادة 463 من نفس القانون:

2. If such an act prejudices the interests of the State, the offender shall be liable to a penalty of detention for a term of one month to one year.
2- إذا نجم عن هذا الفعل ضرر بمصالح الدولة عوقب المجرم بالحبس من شهر إلى سنة.

Any officer or member of the forces of law and order and any person in charge of a post or detachment who fails to comply with a lawful request from the judicial or administrative authorities shall be liable to a penalty of detention for a term of one month to one year.
يعاقب بالحبس من شهر إلى سنة كل ضابط أو فرد من أفراد القوة العامة وكل قائد موقع أو فصيلة امتنع عن تلبية طلب قانوني صادر عن السلطة القضائية أو الإدارية.

Disobedience carries a penalty of one month to one year of imprisonment.
ويُعاقَب عدم إطاعة الأوامر بالحبس لمدّة تتراوح بين شهر وسنة.

1. A penalty of detention for a term of one month to one year and a fine of LS 100500 shall be imposed on:
1- يعاقب بالحبس من شهر إلى سنة وبالغرامة من مائة إلى خمسمائة ليرة.

The penalty for duelling shall be detention for a term of one month to one year.
عقوبة المبارزة من شهر إلى سنة.

266. Article 463 of the same Code prescribes a penalty of detention for a term of one month to one year for:
266- ويعاقب بالحبس من شهر إلى سنة حسب المادة 463 من نفس القانون:

1. Any official who incites contempt for national customs or the laws of the State or who commends acts incompatible with those laws or customs shall be liable to a penalty of detention for a term of one month to one year and a fine of LS 100.
1- يعاقب بالحبس من شهر إلى سنة وبالغرامة مائة ليرة كل موظف حض على الازدراء بالأوضاع القومية أو بقوانين الدولة أو أشاد بذكر أعمال تنافي هذه القوانين أو الأوضاع.

3. Any other person owning or claiming ownership of property placed in judicial custody who intentionally takes or damages such property or knowingly conceals or tampers with what he has taken shall be liable to a penalty of detention for a term of one month to one year and a fine of LS 100.
3- وكل شخص آخر ملك الأشياء الموضوعة تحت يد القضاء أو يدعي ملكيتها ويقدم قصداً على أخذها أو ألحق الضرر بها أو يخبئ ما أخذ منها أو تصرف به وهو عالم بأمره يعاقب بالحبس من شهر إلى سنة وبالغرامة مائة ليرة

Article 480 of the Criminal Law provides for a penalty of one month to one year in prison or a fine of 200 to 1,000 dirhams, or both, for a person who intentionally fails to pay the maintenance determined by a final or interim court decision to a wife or a dependent child or parent at the prescribed time.
263- وينص القانون الجنائي في المادة 480 على أن يعاقب بالحبس من شهر إلى سنة وبغرامة من 200 إلى 000 1 درهم أو بإحدى هاتين العقوبتين فقط، من صدر عليه حكم، نهائي أو قابل للتنفيذ المؤقت، بدفع نفقة إلى زوجه أو أحد أصوله أو فروعه وأمسك عمدا عن دفعها في موعدها المحدد.

Article 207: The penalty of imprisonment of one month to one year and a fine of 5 to 50 riyals shall be imposed on any person who:
المادة (207): يعاقب بالسجن من شهر إلى سنة وبالغرامة من خمس ريالات إلى خمسين:

1. Anyone who attempts to influence the vote of a Syrian, with a view to distorting the outcome of a public election, by threatening harm to his person, his family, his status or his property, by offering recompense, gifts or pledges or by promising administrative grants to a body corporate or a group of persons shall be liable to a penalty of detention for a period of one month to one year together with a fine of LS 100500.
1- من حاول التأثير في اقتراع أحد السوريين بقصد إفساد نتيجة الانتخاب العام. إما بإخافته من ضرر يلحق بشخصه أو أسرته أو مركزه أو ماله، أو بالتعويض أو العطايا أو الوعود. أو بوعد شخص اعتباري أو جماعة من الناس بمنح إدارية. يعاقب بالحبس من شهر إلى سنة وبالغرامة من مائة إلى خمسمائة ليرة.

1. Any of the above-mentioned persons, and in general, any officer or member of the forces of law and order and any administrative official who refuses or fails to promptly bring a detainee or prisoner before the competent magistrate who requires them to do so, shall be liable to a penalty of detention for a term of one month to one year.
1- إن الأشخاص السابق ذكرهم وبوجه عام جميع ضباط القوة العامة وأفرادها وجميع الموظفين الإداريين الذين يرفضون أو يؤخرون إحضار شخص موقف أو سجين أمام القاضي ذي الصلاحية الذي يطلب إليهم ذلك يعاقبون بالحبس من شهر إلى سنة.

2. If the escape is attributable to the negligence of the guard or escort, the penalty shall be detention for a term of one month to one year in the first above-mentioned case, six months to two years in the second case and one to three years in the third case.
2- إذا حصل الفرار بسبب إهمال الحارس أو السائق كانت عقوبته الحبس من شهر إلى سنة في الحالة الأولى المذكورة آنفاً ، والحبس من ستة أشهر إلى سنتين في الحالة الثانية ، ومن سنة إلى ثلاث سنوات في الحالة الثالثة.

264. Accordingly, freedom of belief is one of the inviolable human rights that are safeguarded by the Constitution, which is the fundamental law of the Syrian Arab Republic. Any act which prevents a Syrian from exercising his constitutional rights is punishable, under the terms of article 319 of the Penal Code, by a penalty of detention for a term of one month to one year.
264- إذن فإن حرية الاعتقاد التي هي حق من حقوق الإنسان قد صانها الدستور الذي يعتبر القانون الأول في الجمهورية العربية السورية ويمنع المساس بها، وكل فعل يعوق ممارسة السوري لحقوقه الدستورية يعاقب عليه في المادة 319 من قانون العقوبات بالحبس من شهر إلى سنة.

In order to protect the child from all forms of negligence, the legislation provides for penalties for family neglect. Article 479 of the Criminal Code stipulates that either a penalty of imprisonment for a period of one month to one year or a fine of 200-1,000 dirhams or both shall be imposed on:
296- ولحماية الطفل من جميع أنواع الإهمال، أفرد المشرّع عقوبات لإهمال الأسرة، حيث تنص المادة 479 من القانون الجنائي على المعاقبة بالحبس من شهر إلى سنة وبالغرامة من 200 إلى 000 1 درهم أو بإحدى هاتين العقوبتين على:

87. Any act that is likely to prevent a Syrian from exercising his civil rights or fulfilling his obligations is punishable by detention for a term of one month to one year if it is committed through the use of threats, violence or any means of physical or mental coercion (art. 319 of the Penal Code).
87- ويعاقب القانون على كل فعل من شأنه إن يعوق السوري عن ممارسة حقوقه أو واجباته المدنية بالحبس من شهر إلى سنة إذا اقترف بالتهديد والشدة أو بأية وسيلة من وسائل الإكراه الجسدي أو المعنوي (المادة 319 عقوبات).

103- ويعاقب القانون على كل فعل من شأنه أن يعوق السوري عن ممارسة حقوقه أو واجباته المدنية بالحبس من شهر إلى سنة إذا اقترف بالتهديد والشدة أو بأية وسيلة من وسائل الإكراه الجسدي أو المعنوي (المادة 319 عقوبات).

Irrespective of the method of insult or abuse, the violator is punishable by either a term of one month to one year in prison or a fine of 500 to 20,000 dirhams, or both, as provided for in section 47 as amended by Royal Decree of 10 April 1973.
222- وأياً كانت طريقة القذف أو الشتم، فإن مرتكبها يعاقب بحبس لمدة تتراوح بين شهر وسنة واحدة وبغرامة تتراوح بين 500 و000 20 درهم أو بإحدى هاتين العقوبتين، حسب مقتضيات الفصل 47 المعدل بظهير 10 نيسان/أبريل 1973.
