At its twentieth session, in 2011, the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice requested UNODC to continue to promote public-private partnerships to counter trafficking in persons, especially women and children, including for the purpose of organ removal (see E/2011/30, resolution 20/3).

The report further states that there is no conclusive evidence regarding the trafficking in children for the purpose of organ removal, but that many abducted or missing children have subsequently been found dead, their bodies mutilated and certain organs removed.
