IV. Other considerations 44. In addition to adherence to the principles discussed in section I above, there are a number of other considerations to be reviewed when developing destruction programmes.

Canada reiterated its strong support for the international human rights instruments referred to in draft resolution A/C.4/51/L.22, and regretted that during the drafting of the draft resolution, no account had been taken of other considerations, especially Israel's legitimate interest in ensuring its security.

4.4 As to the author's claim that he should not have been held in provisional detention since it was physically impossible for him to abscond, the State party maintains that the decision was taken on the grounds that there was a risk of escape and on the basis of other considerations that were duly argued and included in the court judgements.
