The Human Rights Council adopted, at its fourteenth session, resolution 14/5 on the role of prevention in the promotion and protection of human rights.

1. At its fourteenth session, the Human Rights Council adopted resolution 14/5 on the role of prevention in the promotion and protection of human rights.

Building on that research, the Council further requested that OHCHR convene a workshop, based on the information gathered from the questionnaire, to further explore the role of prevention in the promotion and protection of human rights, and to present a summary of the workshop proceedings to the Council at its eighteenth session.

5. Invites national human rights institutions to consider addressing the issue of the role of prevention in the promotion and protection of human rights in the framework of relevant international and regional forums;

8. Takes note of the report of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights on the Workshop on the Role of prevention in the promotion and protection of Human Rights, and the conclusions and recommendations contained therein;

Stresses the need to develop further the concept of prevention of human rights violations and to step up efforts to raise awareness of prevention in the promotion and protection of human rights in order to encourage its reflection in relevant policies and strategies at the national, regional and international levels;
9- يشدد على ضرورة زيادة تطوير مفهوم منع انتهاكات حقوق الإنسان وضرورة مضاعفة الجهود لإذكاء الوعي بدور منع الانتهاكات في تعزيز وحماية حقوق الإنسان بغية تشجيع إدراج هذا المفهوم في السياسات والاستراتيجيات ذات الصلة على المستويات الوطني والإقليمي والدولي؛

9.
