Pursuant to General Assembly resolution 55/61, the Meeting of the Intergovernmental Open-Ended Expert Group to Prepare Draft Terms of Reference for the Negotiation of an International Legal Instrument against Corruption was held in Vienna from 30 July to 3 August 2001.

It also reviewed the draft plan of action against corruption, in the light of the draft resolution contained in chapter II of the report of the Meeting of the Intergovernmental Open-Ended Expert Group to Prepare Draft Terms of Reference for the Negotiation of an International Legal Instrument against Corruption (A/AC.260/2).
كما استعرض مشروع خطة العمل بشأن مكافحة الفساد، على ضوء مشروع القرار الوارد في الفصل الثاني من تقرير اجتماع فريق الخبراء الحكومي الدولي المفتوح العضوية لاعداد مشروع اطار مرجعي للتفاوض بشأن صك قانوني دولي لمكافحة الفساد (A/AC.260/2).

The Intergovernmental Open-Ended Expert Group recommended to the General Assembly at its fifty-sixth session, through the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice at its resumed tenth session and the Economic and Social Council, the adoption of a draft resolution outlining the terms of Reference for the Negotiation of a United Nations convention against corruption.
وقد أوصى فريق الخبراء الدولي الحكومي المفتوح العضوية الجمعية العامة بأن تعتمد في دورتها السادسة والخمسين، عن طريق لجنة منع الجريمة والعدالة الجنائية في دورتها العاشرة المستأنفة والمجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي، مشروع قرار يبين الاطار المرجعي للتفاوض بشأن اتفاقية الأمم المتحدة لمكافحة الفساد.

The Intergovernmental Open-Ended Expert Group recommended to the Assembly, through the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice and the Economic and Social Council, the adoption of a draft resolution on the terms of Reference for the Negotiation of an international legal instrument against corruption.
وأوصى فريق الخبراء الحكومي الدولي المفتوح العضوية، من خلال لجنة منع الجريمة والعدالة الجنائية والمجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي، بأن تعتمد الجمعية العامة مشروع قرار عن الاطار المرجعي للتفاوض بشأن صك قانوني دولي لمكافحة الفساد.

Recalling further its resolution 55/61 of 4 December 2000, in which it established an ad hoc committee for the negotiation of an effective international legal instrument against corruption, and requested the Secretary-General to convene an intergovernmental open-ended expert group to examine and prepare draft terms of Reference for the Negotiation of such an instrument,
وإذ تشير كذلك إلى قرارها 55/61 المؤرخ 4 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2000، الذي أنشأت بموجبه لجنة مخصصة للتفاوض بشأن صك قانوني دولي فعّال لمكافحة الفساد، وطلبت فيه إلى الأمين العام أن يدعو فريقا من الخبراء حكوميا دوليا مفتوح باب العضوية إلى الانعقاد لدراسة وإعداد مشروع الإطار المرجعي للتفاوض بشأن ذلك الصك،

A number of speakers made reference to the need for a broad instrument, embodying the various elements considered by the Commission at its tenth session and subsequently adopted by the General Assembly in its resolution 56/260 of 31 January 2002, on the terms of Reference for the Negotiation of an international legal instrument against corruption.
وأشار عدد من المتحدثين الى الحاجة الى صك شامل يجسد مختلف العناصر التي نظرت فيها اللجنة في دورتها العاشرة والتي اعتمدتها الجمعية العامة فيما بعد في قرارها 56/260 المؤرخ 31 كانون الثاني/يناير 2002، عن الاطار المرجعي للتفاوض بشأن صك قانوني دولي لمكافحة الفساد.

Requests the intergovernmental open-ended expert group to submit the draft terms of Reference for the Negotiation of the future legal instrument, through the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice and the Economic and Social Council, to the General Assembly at its fifty-sixth session for adoption;

In its resolution 55/188 of 20 December 2000, the General Assembly reiterated its request to the Secretary-General, as contained in resolution 55/61, to convene an intergovernmental open-ended expert group to examine and prepare draft terms of Reference for the Negotiation of a future legal instrument against corruption.
24- وكرّرت الجمعية العامة، في قرارها 55/188 المؤرخ 20 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2000، طلبها إلى الأمين العام، كما جاء في قرارها 55/61، أن يعقد اجتماعا لفريق خبراء حكومي دولي مفتوح العضوية لدراسة وإعداد مشروع إطار مرجعي للتفاوض على صك قانوني مقبل لمكافحة الفساد.
