Although limited humanitarian access was granted in some areas of South Kordofan and Blue Nile, this was restricted to Government-controlled areas.

Further to my previous correspondence in regard to the humanitarian situation in the two States of South Kordofan and Blue Nile, I have the honour to inform you that the Government of the Sudan, consistent with its keenness to enhance the already existing cooperation with the United Nations agencies working in the humanitarian field, has laid down procedures to further organize and regulate the working relationship with those agencies.
إلحاقا برسالتي السابقة بشأن الحالة الإنسانية في ولايتي جنوب كردفان والنيل الأزرق، أتشرف بإبلاغكم أن حكومة السودان، تماشيا مع حرصها على تعزيز التعاون القائم بالفعل مع وكالات الأمم المتحدة في المجال الإنساني، قد اتخذت إجراءات تهدف إلى المزيد من تنظيم علاقة العمل مع تلك الوكالات.

The United Nations agencies and international organizations that already had offices in place and operating in the field of development and reconstruction in the two States of South Kordofan and Blue Nile before the latest events are allowed to resume their work according to the following procedures:

93. In the Sudan, the Peacebuilding Fund provided gap-filling support to the reintegration of returning internally displaced persons and peacebuilding efforts in Abyei and the States of South Kordofan and Khartoum.

31. Regarding the situation in the States of South Kordofan and Blue Nile in the Sudan, he said that on 1 October the Sudan People's Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-North) had declared an end to its unilateral ceasefire.
