1. On 15 December 1994, the General Assembly adopted resolution 49/75 F entitled " 1995 Review and Extension Conference of States Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons " , the operative part of which reads, inter alia, as follows:
١ - في ١٥ كانون اﻷول/ديسمبر ١٩٩٤ اعتمدت الجمعية العامة القرار ٤٩/٧٥ واو، المعنون " مؤتمر عام ١٩٩٥ للدول اﻷطراف في معاهدة عدم انتشار اﻷسلحة النووية لاستعراض وتمديد المعاهدة " والذي ينص جزء المنطوق فيه، في جملة أمور، على ما يلي:

Last spring, the Review and Extension Conference of States Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) was held.

An early conclusion of a treaty on a comprehensive nuclear test ban would greatly promote the success of the 1995 Conference of States Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.

On 2 November, Indonesia, Mexico, Namibia, Nigeria, Zambia and Zimbabwe submitted a draft resolution entitled " 1995 Review and Extension Conference of States Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons " (A/C.1/49/L.28), which was later also sponsored by the United Republic of Tanzania.

For this reason, and because of our peace-loving tradition, we shall continue to strive to ensure that at the meeting of States Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons to be held in 1995 the Treaty's validity should be extended indefinitely.
