I have the honour to convey to you the text of the Agreement on Identity and Rights of Indigenous People between the Government of Guatemala and the Unidad Revolucionaria Nacional Guatemalteca (URNG), which was signed at Mexico City on 31 March 1995.
أتشرف بأن أحيل اليكم نص الاتفاق المتعلق بهوية وحقوق السكان اﻷصليين، الذي أبرمته حكومة غواتيمالا والاتحاد الثوري الوطني الغواتيمالي في مدينة مكسيكو بتاريخ ٣١ آذار/مارس ١٩٩٥.

1. Stresses the significance of the Agreement on Identity and Rights of Indigenous Peoples as an important step in the Guatemala peace process and a landmark in the International Decade of the World's Indigenous People; Resolution 48/163.
١ - تؤكد أهمية الاتفاق المتعلق بهوية وحقوق السكان اﻷصليين كخطوة مهمة في عملية السلم في غواتيمالا وعلامة فارقة في العقد الدولي للسكان اﻷصليين*؛

The signing in Mexico City by the Government of Guatemala and the Unidad Nacional Revolucionaria Guatemalteca (UNRG) of the Agreement on Identity and Rights of the Indigenous People, and the negotiations to conclude an agreement on socio-economic aspects and the agrarian situation constitute very important progress in the peace process, and they deserve the international community's support.
إن التوقيع على الاتفاق المتعلق بهوية وحقوق السكان اﻷصليين في مدينة مكسيكو من جانب حكومة غواتيمالا والاتحاد الثوري الوطني الغواتيمالي، والمفاوضات الرامية إلى إبرام اتفاق يتعلق بالجوانب الاجتماعية والاقتصادية والحالة الزراعية يمثلان تقدما بالغ اﻷهمية في عملية السلم ويستحقان دعم المجتمع الدولي.

While progress in those talks has been uneven, we are encouraged by the establishment of the United Nations Mission for the Verification of Human Rights and of Compliance with the Commitments of the Comprehensive Agreement on Human Rights in Guatemala (MlNUGUA), and by the signing of the Agreement on Identity and Rights of Indigenous People.

٤ - تطلب إلى حكومة غواتيمالا والاتحاد الثوري الوطني الغواتيمالي اتخاذ إجراءات فعالة لتنفيذ التوصيات الواردة في التقريرين الثالث والرابع لمدير البعثة والامتثال التام لالتزاماتهما بموجب الاتفاق الشامل بشأن حقوق اﻹنسان وبالجوانب المتصلة بحقوق اﻹنسان من الاتفاق المتعلق بهوية وحقوق السكان اﻷصليين؛

21. Also expresses its satisfaction at the signing of the Agreement on Identity and Rights of Indigenous Peoples on 31 March 1995, at the role played by MINUGUA in the country and at the resumption of negotiations between the new Government of Guatemala and the Unidad Revolucionaria Nacional Guatemalteca;
١٢- تعرب عن ارتياحها أيضاً للتوقيع على الاتفاق المتعلق بهوية وحقوق السكان اﻷصليين في ١٣ آذار/مارس ٥٩٩١، وللدور الذي تضطلع به بعثة اﻷمم المتحدة في هذا البلد، واستئناف المفاوضات بين الحكومة الجديدة لغواتيمالا والاتحاد الثوري الوطني الغواتيمالي؛

Under the authority of the General Assembly, the Comprehensive Agreement on Human Rights and human rights aspects of the Agreement on Identity and Rights of Indigenous Peoples are already being verified by the United Nations Mission for the Verification of Human Rights and of Compliance with the Commitments of the Comprehensive Agreement on Human Rights in Guatemala (MINUGUA).
وتقوم بعثة اﻷمم المتحدة للتحقق من حالة حقوق اﻹنسان ومن الامتثال للالتزامات الواردة في الاتفاق الشامل بشأن حقوق اﻹنسان في غواتيمالا، تحت سلطة الجمعية العامة، بالتحقق من الاتفاق الشامل بشأن حقوق اﻹنسان ومن الجوانب المتعلقة بحقوق اﻹنسان من الاتفاق بشأن هوية وحقوق السكان اﻷصليين.
