It was party to numerous international and bilateral counter-terrorism conventions, and as a member of the Council of Arab Ministers of Justice and of the Interior, had participated in the adoption of the Arab Convention on the Suppression of Terrorism in 1998.
وقال إنها طرف في الكثير من اتفاقيات مكافحة الإرهاب الدولية والثنائية، وإنها، بوصفها عضوا في مجلس وزراء العدل والداخلية العرب، قد اشتركت في اعتماد الاتفاقية العربية لقمع الإرهاب في عام 1998.

Article 4, paragraph 2, of the Arab Convention on the Suppression of Terrorism of 1998 provides:

The most important aspect of this cooperation is between the Council of Arab Ministers of the Interior and the Council of Arab Ministers of Justice, which resulted in the conclusion of the Arab Convention on the Suppression of Terrorism.
ويتمثل المظهر الأهم لهذا التعاون في علاقات التنسيق بين مجلسي وزراء الداخلية والعدل العرب والتي أثمرت عن توقيع الاتفاقية العربية لمكافحة الإرهاب.

In this context, the Supreme Council applauded the signature of the Arab Convention for the Suppression of Terrorism at the League of Arab States in April 1998.
وأشاد المجلس اﻷعلى، في هذا الصدد، بإبرام الاتفاقية العربية لمكافحة اﻹرهاب في إطار جامعة الدول العربية في نيسان/أبريل ١٩٩٨.

28. The League of Arab States referred the High Commissioner to provisions of the Arab Convention for the Suppression of Terrorism, which entered into force in May 1999.
28 - وأحالت جامعة الدول العربية المفوض السامي إلى أحكام الاتفاقية العربية لقمع الإرهاب التي دخلت حيز النفاذ في أيار/مايو 1999.

There has been an enhancement of cooperation within the framework of the Arab Convention on the Suppression of Terrorism as well as, judicially and legally, under the auspices of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), albeit in the latter case only among the six GCC members.
ولقد تم تعزيز التعاون بقدر ما في إطار الاتفاقية العربية لقمع الإرهاب، وكذلك في المجالين القضائي والقانوني، تحت رعاية مجلس التعاون الخليجي، وإن كان في هذه الحالة الأخيرة لم يجر تعزيز التعاون إلا بين الدول الست الأعضاء في المجلس.

Since its inception, the Council of Arab Ministers of Justice has consistently concerned itself with the issue of counter-terrorism. It oversees the implementation of the Arab Convention on the Suppression of Terrorism, as well as relevant international agreements and covenants, and ensures the coordination of Arab positions on the matter.
اهتم المجلس منذ نشأته بموضوع مكافحة الإرهاب وذلك من خلال متابعة تنفيذ الاتفاقية العربية لمكافحة الإرهاب والاتفاقيات والصكوك الدولية المتعلقة بمكافحة الإرهاب والإشراف على تنسيق المواقف العربية بشأنها حيث قام بجهود متنوعة في إطار ما سبق تتلخص فيما يلي:

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was among the first signatories of the Arab Convention on the Suppression of Terrorism and other similar agreements emanating from the Organization of the Islamic Conference and the Arab Gulf Cooperation Council. In addition, it has acceded to nine other international anti-terrorism conventions and agreements.
كما كانت من أوائل الموقعين على الاتفاقية العربية لمكافحة الإرهاب وكذلك على اتفاقية منظمة المؤتمر الإسلامي لمكافحة الإرهاب واتفاقية مجلس التعاون لدول الخليج العربية لمكافحة الإرهاب وانضمت المملكة إلى تسع معاهدات واتفاقيات دولية ضد الأعمال الإرهابية.

Several States have criminalized " justification " of acts of terrorism, while others state that they have enacted relevant legislation on the basis of the Arab Convention on the Suppression of Terrorism.
وجرّمت عدة دول " تبرير " أعمال الإرهاب، في حين أعلنت دول أخرى أنها سنّت تشريعات ذات صلة على أساس الاتفاقية العربية لقمع الإرهاب.

Article 3 of the Convention of the Organization of the Islamic Conference on Combating International Terrorism and article 3 of the Arab Convention for the Suppression of Terrorism both include a series of measures for the prevention and suppression of terrorist crimes (see annex).
- تضمنت (المادة الثالثة) في كل من معاهدة منظمة المؤتمر الإسلامي لمكافحة الإرهاب الدولي والاتفاقية العربية لمكافحة الإرهاب جملة من التدابير لمنع ومكافحة الجرائم الإرهابية (انظر الملحق).
